A dedicated 13.8V 30A switching power supply designed for amateur radio, featuring Noise Offset Control to eliminate RF interference across HF, VHF, and UHF bands.

The Jaogau PS-30A is engineered specifically for the modern UK ham shack. Delivering a highly stable 13.8V DC output with a continuous 20A and peak 30A rating, it comfortably powers modern 100W HF transceivers without voltage drop or thermal throttling.

Eliminate HF Hash with Noise Offset Control

Unlike generic LED power supplies, the PS-30A is an RF-first design. If you detect switching noise (birdies or hash) raising your S-meter on a specific frequency, simply adjust the front-panel Noise Offset knob. This shifts the internal switching clock frequency, instantly moving the interference out of your receiver's passband. Combined with proper shack grounding and our internal EMI filtering, you can enjoy the efficiency of a switching supply with the quietness of a linear one.

Built for Demanding Duty Cycles

Whether you are contesting on SSB, chewing the rag on FM, or running high-duty-cycle digital modes like FT8, the PS-30A keeps its cool. The thermostatically controlled rear fan only engages when necessary, ensuring a quiet environment while you are listening for weak signals, but providing massive airflow during heavy transmit loads.

Versatile Shack Connectivity

Wire your station exactly how you want. The rear features heavy-duty binding posts capable of handling the full 30A load (ideal for your primary transceiver). The front panel offers convenient auxiliary connections, including a cigar lighter socket and snap-in terminals for accessories, SDRs, or VHF/UHF mobile rigs.

How to Use

  1. Ensure the power switch is OFF before connecting to UK mains.
  2. Connect your transceiver's DC power cable to the rear high-current binding posts (Red to Positive, Black to Negative). Ensure tight connections to prevent voltage drop.
  3. Turn on the PS-30A. The display should read 13.8V.
  4. Power on your transceiver. If you notice an S-meter rise or 'birdie' from the PSU while tuning the HF bands, slowly turn the 'Noise Offset' knob until the noise drops out of your receiver's passband.
  5. For high duty-cycle modes (like FT8), ensure the rear cooling fan has at least 10cm of clearance from the shack wall.

Fantastic bit of kit for the shack. I was worried about switching noise on 40m, but the Noise Offset dial works exactly as advertised. Moved a stubborn birdie right off my calling frequency. Powers my IC-7300 effortlessly.

Next day delivery was spot on. The build quality is solid, and the voltage stays rock steady at 13.8V even when I'm pushing 100W on SSB. The cigar socket on the front is very handy for my dual-bander.

As an SDR user, RF hash is my worst enemy. I scoped the output of this Jaogau supply and was very impressed by the internal filtering. Very clean waterfall, highly recommended for digital mode operators.

Great power supply and does the job well for my FT-DX10. My only minor gripe is the fan gets quite loud when I am running long FT8 sessions. It cools it down quickly though, so I can't complain too much.

Replaced an old, incredibly heavy linear supply with this. It is a fraction of the weight, takes up way less desk space, and honestly, the noise floor on 80m and 40m hasn't changed a bit. Excellent value.

Using this to power a 50W VHF/UHF base station setup. The front panel meters are clear and bright. The rear binding posts are a bit close together for very thick ring terminals, but standard banana plugs fit perfectly.

Brilliant PSU for the price. I followed their UK setup notes regarding ferrite chokes and grounding, and my station has never been quieter. Excellent support from the Jaogau team when I emailed a question about cable gauges.
